Today I am sharing how I made my “BE MERRY” decorative wood blocks for my DIY Wood Christmas Tree Shelf.
This project is a cinch and best part is you can use your leftover tree scraps for the wood blocks!
Let’s jump right in!
For the “BE MERRY” blocks, I cut my 1×4 scraps into 7 – 2.5″ wide blocks using my miter saw.
I then painted the blocks with red acrylic paint.
Using my Cricut Expression and some cardstock, I cut 2″x3.5″ letter stencils out. I used letters from the Cricut cartridge Kate’s ABC’s.
I stenciled the letters onto each block with white acrylic paint and a stippling brush.
The triangle tree blocks were cut from scraps of 1×4’s and 1×5’s at various heights and widths using my miter saw. Some triangle shapes were cut at 15% and some at 30%.
The star block I cut from a 1×4 scrap. I traced a 3″ star that I cut from my Cricut and then cut the star from the wood using my scroll saw. After cutting the star out I painted it with white acrylic paint.
Once all of my blocks were dry, I sanded the edges, and that’s it!
These little blocks and trees would look so cute on any shelf display, or countertop and would even make a great diy gift!
