Remember my little Tribal Spring Inspiration Sneak Peek from last week?
Well, I’m ready to reveal the final outcome, and take you along with me as I go through each step!
First I created 5 swallow tail wooden banner shapes.
You can find the full tutorial on how I made these here:
Next, I stained my wood banner shapes with Minwax Early American stain,
and then created a stencil using my trust Cricut Expression.
The thing I love about this pattern is it’s all straight lines! So, if you don’t have a machine to cut a stencil,
you could easily use some painters tape to create the outline for your stencil.
(Please excuse the imperfect stencil I made using scraps of vinyl..) 🙂
Using white paint and a stipple brush, I filled in the stenciled areas.
I strung my banner with hemp twine and tied strips of muslin around the bow knots.
I love how it turned out, and am stoked to have something that can transition from season to season with my decor.
or at least until my tribal decor obsession calms down. ha!
