I’d like to interrupt our regular programming to bring you a sweet treat from Mr. Wheat! These brownie ice cream hearts are divine!
We are also excited to be participating with more than a dozen other bloggers for the Valentine Recipe Blog Hop! Make sure to check out their delicious recipes at the end of this post!
For those of you who have gotten to know us, you know that Mr. Wheat and I have somewhat reverse or non-traditional rolls when it comes to some things. If you ever stop by our house you can usually find me somewhere with a power tool or paint and Mr. Wheat cooking up something delicious in the kitchen.
Another little piece of Mr. Wheat trivia is that his two favorite things to eat in all the world are Ghiradelli brownies and Tillamook ice cream.
Here is what you are going to need for this treat. This post contains affiliate links.
- Ghirardelli Brownie Mix
- Ghirardelli Premium Chocolate Sauce
- Tillamook Ice Cream – Strawberry
- Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter
- Cookie Sheet
- Parchment Paper
- Fresh Strawberries
Prep. time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Total time: 45 minutes
Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
Prepare brownie mix as instructed. Once brownie mix is ready, pour onto greased baking sheet or baking sheet lined with parchment paper. (We are using a baking sheet to give us a thinner brownie)
Bake brownies for 30 minutes at 350°F.
Once brownies have cooled completely HIDE THEM! Ha! You’ll see our 6 year old beat us to the pan and managed a nice big finger scoop of brownie before we caught him! Let’s try this again, shall we? Once brownies have cooled completely use your cookie cutter to create the heart shaped brownie base of your treat. Place these on a plate and freeze.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper and spread Tillamook strawberry ice cream evenly (about 1/2″ thick). Freeze sheet of ice cream.
Once ice cream is frozen, use cookie cutter to cut ice cream hearts and place on top of brownie hearts. Place back in freezer until ready to serve.
You’ll want to serve immediately following this last step. Drizzle Ghiradelli’s Premium Chocolate Sauce on top of the brownie ice cream treat and embellish with strawberries.
We hope you enjoy this delicious treat as much we do!!
