I can’t wait to share just how EASY these adorable DIY cereal box pineapples are to make!
I wasn’t so sure about the pineapple craze that seems to be happening right now, but I’m glad I surrendered to it. I feel like I need to throw a fun luau/tropical cook out as an excuse to keep making fun pineapple party decor!
Seriously, guys, these pineapples are almost TOO easy!
Here is what you’ll need:

- Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine – 6″ Platform
- Pineapple Contour Steel Rule Die
- (Optional) Nestabilities Lacey Circles Etched Dies
- Rustoleum Metallic Gold Spray Paint
- Cardboard (cereal boxes work great!)
- Hot glue gun
- Glue Sticks
- Mod Podge
- Paint brush
Let’s get started!
Raid your recycling bin for cereal boxes! Any cardboard box should do. Use scissors to cut cereal boxes.
Using your Platinum 6 machine and your pineapple die. Cut out your pineapples. You’ll need 3 pineapple cut outs for each 3D pineapple.
Your die sandwich will be acrylic plate, pineapple die, cardboard (experiment – you may be able to cut 2 pieces of cardboard at once!), acrylic plate.
Cut 1/4″ from the bottom of each pineapple. You must do this or the pineapples will not be able to stand on their own. Also, cut pineapples vertically through the center.
Using your hot glue gun, glue straight edges of pineapples together. You’ll need 6 halves to make a standing 3D pineapple.
Using your Rustoleum metallic gold spray paint, paint your pineapples and let dry completely. ThisBeautiful spray paint is AMAZING! Beautiful flawless coverage, and shiny metallic finish. Your friends will not believe these pineapples were once storing your breakfast!
Using your Mod Podge and a paint brush, paint the tips of your pineapples. You can be pretty generous here, especially if you are using hearty glitter like you’ll see here.
Step 7: **This step is optional!**
Using your Platinum 6 and Lacey Circles Etched die, cut out your name tags.
That’s it! Enjoy your adorable 3D cereal box pineapples!
Have a great week!
